break time!
ahhhh.. i feel like some kinda translating robot lately lol. so i want to take a post to actually reflect on all the arashi things i've soaked up lately :D
I've been away from this stuff for so long its like culture shock coming back.. except its a loveable, cute one haha. Although now that i'm back, I feel a lot closer to Ohno than Jun, and i think i figured out why. Even though i feel like i can find a bit of myself in all the guys (nino's games.. ohno's art.. jun's personality.. aiba's fun.. sho's intelligence).. I realized Ohno resembles my boyfriend a lot, he even does art o_O. so that works out for me i guess ;P I'll still translate as much as i can.. dont worry i wont go biased and only translate one boy :P
i really really forgot just how much they can cheer me up with a cute show like TFP or their variety shows. I dont think i've smiled so much in such a short amount of time lol. I also had the opportunity to watch Ohno's teiseikun-pu.. just wow. There are really no words, I was truly impressed. Its just hard to believe (without watching one of his plays) that the mumbling, silly ohno can be that strong and .. just amazing D:
every time i hear about nino's new 'bag'.. i just crack up laughing. I really want a picture of that thing, its gotta be priceless lol. even going so far as to borrow aiba's ds because he uses a grocery store bag? hahaah <3
each boy has his own difficulties in translation.. everytime they do a "(laughs)" i cringe. sometimes the jokes are so culture-based that i have no idea what exactly is making it funny. sometimes i'll end up reworking the joke so many times until i want to give up. Mr. college-grad sho likes to use big words that takes me forever to write up and look up lol.. jun uses such complex philosophy sometimes i just wanna strangle him lol. Nino and Ohno are the two lil jokesters, except ohno's are usually just silly where nino's are complex AND silly.. sigh. Aiba seems to use slang more often.. maybe i shouldnt call it slang, but he usually has a slightly different style of talking than the rest. but! its all good.. no.. amazing practice for me. it really helps me to get a feel for each of their individual personalities so i can better express them. I do try my hardest.. but sometimes i just wont get something and i'll put in a filler thats as close as i can come up with :(
the new 'himitsu' show seems SUPER fun.. i cant wait for it to come out >___< hurry! so does the vs. show.. but a different kind of fun :D although i'm a little worried the himitsu show will be a bit too much for me to just listen to and understand.. I actually dont know that many words in japanese, I just have a very strong understanding of their grammar. I use a japanese word program that whenever i hover over the Japanese it tells me the english equivalent.. so basically i just have to fill in the blanks lol. so when i watch some of their shows, i can get a bit lost if they start using complex words i dont know. but i can normally follow their baka-talk xD also the text on the bottom of the screen is sooooo helpful.. because i can usually read most the kanji then figure out the meaning :D
I also want to say THANKS to everyone out there who : 1 - reads my translations, you're why i'm working on translating :) 2 - who shares the HQ scans, without those i'd be lost! <3 <3 <3 and more <3 and 3 - to arashi .. for just being arashi :D
I thought the commentary on each boy by the himitsu show director was pretty cool.. and pretty accurate. lol @ nino being able to grasp the basis of things quickly.. that just comes from playing games i could of told you that ahah XD
one more translation rant.. lol. i hate it when they put words in katakana.. i know its for emphasis, but its really hard on me sometimes to figure out what exactly they mean. like with the recent "ネタ" in all the himitsu articles. i've seen things from it meaning content to joke to even jealousy (wtf).. :( I guess they're just referring to the different topics they'll have on each show.. like why the convenience store guy actually cleans the floor, etc., but its still hard to find a good word for that exactly >_< oh well
oh! i also hate the word koi (濃い).. it means something like deep/thick/strong. they almost always use that word to describe jun's face. but honestly what english word actually describes it without insulting him :/ I know theres a word out there.. but i cant find it!.. ah well :( also with [毒気のあるイメージ] jun actually is in a round-about way describing himself as having a poisonous/malicious image.. and later mentions how its not poison.. but its an accent. Its just too hard to actually use those kind of words.. maybe they dont have the same kind of image as they do in english :/
also! I'm looking for the lyrics to ohno's solo "song for me".. translated or not. I just like singing it and i want to sing along correctly XD not mumbling some of the words lol
sometimes when i actually think about how hard they work every single day, it makes me feel almost worthless. being almost the same age as them, i havent even done a fraction of what they have in life.. but i guess few people can say they have. but its definetly a reality check and a dream at the same time with Arashi and doing these translations.
kk i'm done :D <3
