Myojo - June - Sho

    最近、エンターテイメントを楽しむ機会が多い櫻井。「この間、東山(紀之)さんの舞台「さらば、わが愛  覇王別姫」を見たよ。取材じゃなくて、時間があいたから見られたんだ。その前に「NEWS ZERO」で東山さんに密着して、そのナビゲーターをやらせてもらったんだけど、事務所の先輩とはいえ知らない部分も多いし、舞台って稽古の様子とか取り組み方まで見られないから、メイキングを見てから舞台を見て、本当におもしろかった!! 俺はいつも仕事をやらせてもらうときに"僕なんかでいいんすか？"って感じなんだけど、東山さんは「覇王別姫」の映画を見たときに、"これが舞台か何かになるのなら、僕しかいないと思ってました"って言ってて、すごいなーと思ったよ。そんなことってなかなか口にできないし、そう答えるってことは、裏づけされた努力に基づく自信があるんだからすごいなあって」努力を積み重ねて自信を得た先輩の背中に、改めて圧倒されたみたいだ。
    Sakurai who's had the chance to enjoy entertainment a lot recently : "The other day i saw Higashiyama (Noriyuki)'s play, Saraba, waga ai - haou bekki. It wasnt for a report though, I just had some free time so i watched it. Related to Higashiyama-san, earlier on NEWS ZERO i got to be the navigator, but there are a lot of things that i dont know about company seniors, like I cant see how he is in the practice room for plays and the way he puts forth effort, so watching the making of video then watching the real play, it was really interesting!! Whenever i'm allowed to do something for work I always feel like, "are you sure its ok I do this?", but when i was watching his film "haou bekki", and he said "Whether this becomes a play or something else, I thought I was the only one who could pull it off", that was really amazing to me. I really cant say that kind of stuff, being able to answer like that, backing up his hard work though his own confidence was just amazing." Obtaining confidence from watching his senpai's hard work, it seems he was overwhelmed again.

    別の日には、六本木に出没。「ブルーマンのパフォーマンスを見に行ったの。見たいなあと思ってたけど、なかなか機会がなくてね。俺、「STOMP」みたいに音楽中心だと思ってたら、お客さん参加型のショーでおもしろかったよ。それに、日本人も意外とノリがいいんだなって。客席との一体感があって、楽しかったな。あとは、DVDで三池祟史監督の「スキヤキ・ウエスタン・ジャンゴ」を見たよ」鑑賞》吸収の日々。「家事？しないよ～。実家だし任せっきり」母に感謝!だね。
    On another day, appearing frequently in Roppongi : "I went to go see the Blue Man Group. I've been wanting to go see it, but I havent had much time. I was thinking it'd be mostly music centered with stuff like "Stomp", but it was a fun show where the audience participated along with them. Also, it was surprising Japanese people could get into it so well. It was like the whole audience became one, so so fun. After that, I watched director Takashi Miike's "Sukiyaki Western Jungle(?)" on DVD." Aesthetic sense > absorbing up days. "Housework? I dont do that~. I live at home so i leave it up to my family." 'Thanks mom!'.

    現在、映画「ヤッターマン」(09年春公開)を撮影中の櫻井。「衣装とか情報がもれないように、ほとんどスタジオか、スタジオ内のオープンセットで過ごしてるよ」ヒーローは、オフタイムも自由にならないのね。「うれしいのは、夕食のケータリング。いつも温かい物を食べられるから楽しみ。昨日の夜は、中華だったよ。ワイヤーアクションも楽しんでるし、日本に1台しかない機械を使って体をスキャニングして、俺のCG作っちゃうらしくて、相当すごいことになってる。俺も早く見たくってしょうがない!」公開が待ち遠しいっ!
    Sakurai who's in the middle of filming for the movie "Yatta-man" (opens Spring '09) : "So I dont leak out anything like costumes or information, lets just say I spend most of my time in the studio or the outdoor set in the studio." Heroes cant relax even when they're not working. "The good part about it is the nightly catering. I can always get something warm, so I look forward to it. Last night was Chinese. The stunt scenes are fun too, they scan my body using a rare machine that theres only one of in all of Japan and make what seems to be a CG version of me, but its turning out really cool. I just want to see the end product now!" We're looking forward to the release too!
